Looking to counter Bahra, the Witchwolf? Bahra is a 7 mana cost legendary card that roots all ground units in place when summoned. Here are some of the top cards to counter this legendary minion. These are listed in order of best to worst, but all of which are viable.

There isn’t a lot of strategy needed here to kill Bahra. While the root effect is strong, every good counter will come after he is already out on the field. Below are some of the best cards to counter Bahra, the Witchwolf:

Best Counter Cards

Wheel of Doom

Wheel of Doom rolls right through Bahra, but watch out for friendly fire as it doesn’t discriminate against any ground targets. A viable choice for clean up duty.

High-Mage Leiliel

Leiliel on mana surge will wreck all ranged units with the built in reflect, Bahra included. She is excellent for clearing hordes of mobs, and can be combined with a cheap tank unit like warrior for solid protection.

Magma Storm

Like Wheel of Doom, Magma Storm will kill anything in it’s path, friendly or otherwise. It will take 2 hits on Bahra from the storm, but generally centering the spell on Bahra if not moving, or putting him in the closest edge if he is moving will take care of the job.

Smite

Only really useful if running Empyrean units, Smite is a formidable spell. The burning ground and healing friendly units is a nice bonus for tanks such as Defenso Chopper or Scrat Tank.

Cleaver

Big, slow and generally easy to counter, Cleaver has the benefit of killing most units like Bahra in one quick hit. Play him right on Bahra’s face for a quick kill.

Nyrvir’s Breath

Not only is it great for killing Bahra, most small to mid-units in the path will also be roasted by this dragon’s breath. A bonus when you reach Accursed Ascension of converting units to skeletons for a change in the tide of battle.

Summary

Bahra, the Witchwolf is a formidable card. He is one of my favorite cards, and works well in any number of decks. Bahra counts towards accursed ascension. He can shut down Rammer and Cleaver before they can hit your base, or buy time for large slow units like Living Statue. Probably best of all, he is a ranged unit that hits in area damage and can hit both flying and ground units. While not an exhaustive list of cards that can counter Bahra, these are all great choices.
